I’ve finally organised my two main SWTOR ships into series on AO3, hopefully for folks’ convenience. Really glad there’s a feature to re-order them, so I’ve put them in chronological story order as opposed to when I actually wrote them, which bounces all over the place in the timeline.
We Choose Our Own Fates - Caspian/Scourge
Servants of the Empire - Khel/Quinn

An essay rebutting the “bad writing” claims of s2 ofmd. Spoilers herein.
I’ll preface this with saying you’re obviously allowed to like and dislike whatever you want. I am in no way opposing that. And your reasons are your reasons. Have at. (Also - this is a collection of observations from the past few days, I’m not calling anyone out)
I AM going to rebut the idea that season two was poorly written and lost the spirit of what the show is about.
My favourite movie of all time is Empire Strikes Back. It’s been my favourite movie since I was four. I’m pretty sure it’s a fave of David Jenkins, too. He and Taika have made absolutely no attempt to hide their love of all things 80’s - Prince, the Princess Bride, Kate Bush, Star Wars, etc.
I have ancient video tapes (that I can’t play because who has a vcr) where Lucas is interviewed by Leonard Maltin? Malkin? I dunno. Who cares. Maltin asks him about the Star Wars (original trilogy) story arc. Lucas says “in act I, you introduce all the characters. In act II, you put them in a situation they can’t get out of, and in act III, they get out of it.”
That’s how it works. This is how stories and literary structures work.
Of course you’re not satisfied with season two. You’re not supposed to be.
The arguments I have read on why s2 loses the spirit of s1 is because no one heals. No one learns anything. No one moves forward properly. The person who makes the biggest move towards healing dies. The two main characters end the show doing the exact fucking thing they had promised themselves and each other they wouldn’t do. Our romantic lead still doesn’t understand his value or make any headway on addressing his tragic flaw. It makes no goddamn sense.
My gremlins in weird: it’s not supposed to. In Act 2, EVERYONE LOSES. This is how it goes.
I’ve read a lot of people saying “but this felt like a series finale, not a season finale.” We all know that outside politics play a part here, the strikes make everything precarious. I remember the last writers strike. It destroyed tv for fifteen years. Anyone remember Pushing Daisies? Some of y’all have never had your fave show cancelled with zero resolution for the characters and it shows.
Daddy J did us a kindness. He softened the blow of a tough season. After the brutal cliffhanger of s1, he gave us a little softness and hope. All those things you’re mad aren’t resolved? It’s because THE STORY ISN’T OVER.
No one on earth thinks “stuff all your trauma into a box and ignore it” is good advice. A way to actually live. This show did not have enough screen time to throw out dialogue for no reason. There was foreshadowing in s1 for s2, and there is foreshadowing for s3 in s2. This is a well-crafted story by very smart people who care very much for these characters. There is zero chance Frenchie explained the box in his head for no reason. The reason people have not resolved their trauma and growth is because they haven’t done it *yet*.
And friends - it’s not thinly veiled. They straight up fucking tell us what they’re doing.
Luke Skywalker spends the first two movies fucking up and desperately trying to prove himself and just generally being an idiot. Sound familiar? He ignores the lessons he is supposed to be learning to go off and do what he feels like doing, and loses fucking badly. At the end of Empire, Han is gone, Luke and Leia wave goodbye to the Falcon that has Lando and Chewy - the rest of their crew - aboard. Everyone has lost everything they care about. Vader is undefeated. Yoda is pissed. Nothing is resolved.
You see where I’m going?
If you think I’m stretching this too far, welp, when Ed tells Stede he loves him - the climax of the finale - Stede quotes Han fucking Solo. Like - *it’s right there*. The story structure. The reason everything is unresolved.
So yeah. They wave goodbye to their ship because they have wounds to heal (like Luke’s hand). The people aboard the ship have things to find. Ed and Stede have *not* learned their lesson about whims and how not to be like Anne and Mary. It’s not stupid that they’re doing the same thing, and it’s not pointless that we were shown Anne and Mary. It’s all relevant.
The resolution comes in Act 3. None of these people are done. The story is far, far from over. And just in case the studios want to be dicks about it, David Jenkins was lovely enough to not repeat my enduring heartbreak over Pushing Daisies.
Thank you, @davidjenks 🖤

Helloo✋🏾 I know it’s late af but I just wanted to get this request off my chest lol. May I request a hobie brown x reader where the reader is doing a “don’t kiss me” prank on him? Just a funny thought
'don't kiss me!' prank ft. hobie brown
♡ pairings & aus: hobie brown x fem!black!reader ♡ summary: you see a prank that a girl pulled on her boyfriend from tiktok, so you decide to try it on hobie ♡ warnings: very sad pouty hobie, reader being a bit of a meanie ♡ a/n: i loved writing this! thank you for your request! ♡ got a request? | masterlist ♡
YOU KNEW IT WAS WRONG.
Okay, maybe not exactly wrong, but it was definitely morally cruel.
You had saw the TikTok while you were sitting on the toilet in Hobie's bathroom, chatting with him about any and everything while he showered. You decided to stay at his place because it was late and you had missed him, so you figured you'd just steal some of his clothes and sleepover for a night or two.
When the idea came into your head, you slumped back onto the toilet seat and pretended you were just watching videos about makeup so that Hobie wouldn't be suspicious.
"Can you hand me my flannel, lovie?" He requested, and you sighed at the use of his slang that you've had to pick up over the last six months. You grab his towel and throw it over the curtain rod. You hear him suck his teeth, "Why do you have to be so annoying, eh?"
You hum with a grin, "Dunno. At least I'm not boring."
Hobie pulls the shower curtain back, and you nearly bite your lip.
This challenge was going to be hard.
The towel that you handed him was wrapped firmly around his waist, his chest glistening to the water droplets that reflecting from the bathroom's cheap lighting. He walks over to you, ready to kiss you, but you stand up and cough. "Um...I'm..hungry. Yeah, I needa' snack."
"Did you not just see what I was tryna do?" He almost pouts, following you into the kitchen, "I wanted to kiss 'ya, then you left."
You grab a bag of chips from his pantry, sitting down at one of his island stools, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice."
Hobie hums at you, walking back to his room, "Whatever."
You were sure that you had already made him upset. He wasn't always in a clingy mood- actually, mostly rarely- but when he was, he was upset if he didn't get what he wanted.
And although you did feel like you were being mean, you needed to get the prank on video to show him, and to laugh at later. So you rose from your chair and ran after him into the bedroom. He had on simple black pajama pants and no top, his hair pulled up in a bun. He was fiddling around with his guitar while sitting on his bed, so he didn't even notice when you propped up your phone and pressed record on your video app.
You winked at the camera when you did it, sliding onto the bed with him. He stopped playing.
"So why can't I kiss you?" Hobie asked, "Does my breath smell bad? Swear I just brushed 'em, love, so I know that isn't it."
"It's none of those things," you assure him, tapping your nails on the outskirts of his guitar. Usually he would flip if someone did that, but with you, he didn't really mind.
You saw him lean closer to you, and then his eyes start to close, and you rested your palm on his chest as you pushed him away. He gives you a watery-eyed look, "Okay, Y/N. D-Did I do somethin'? Because you're not wantin' to kiss me at all. Talk to me, yeah? Please?"
His big hands are cupping either of your cheeks as he looks at you intensively, and you can't help but break. You lean in, your lips connecting with his. You expect the kiss to be warm and light, but Hobie had a different motive. His right hand left your cheek as he snaked his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to deepen it. A satisfied sigh leaves you as that same hand finds one of your braids. He twirls it in his fingers, pulling away from you, "So now you want to smooch me, hm? What's the matta'?"
You laugh, your head being thrown back at how humorous the situation was to you. Hobie's straightfaced, though, and he's not laughing when you look up again. You cup his cheek, your other hand pointing to your propped up phone, "Look, baby, it was a prank!"
Hobie gives you a playful slap to the shoulder, "Don't do that again, love, yeah? Was bloody painful."
You laugh, leaning in as you kissed your boyfriend.
"Don't worry, I won't." You smiled.
And maybe you wouldn't deprive him of kisses again, but when the time came, you'd definitely be playing more pranks on him sooner rather than later.
𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 ☻ thank you for reading!

i was just watching a new trend that's going on rn that people tell their partners "i wasn't satisfied with your performance last night" and it reminded me of you it'd be so funny if mickey tell ian that lol
Okau so i looked for this one everywhere, but i couldn’t find a good example so i’ll have to make it up as i go!
So Mickey starts getting annoyed. ian’s just constantly having this little laugh to himself about these stupid toktik clock trends, and mickey’s sick of it.
he thinks for a while about how to get ian back, and decides that the best way would be to give him a taste of his own medicine.
by downloading toktik, which is apparently tiktok.
at first it’s very weird, and it takes a while for him to understand how the app works. when he does, he searches ‘couple prank’ into the search bar, remembering the point of this whole thing.
the second one he sees is interesting, so he resolves to try it.
they’re eating breakfast, ian absentmindedly typing on his phone. he’s probably looking for more ways to confuse mickey with those stupid trends.
he swallows the food in his mouth.
“you know last night?” mickey says.
“yeahh” ian responds, only looking up from his phone to smirk.
“yeah, i wasn’t really satisfied with your performance, man.” he tells him, then gets up and puts his plate in the sink.
it takes a moment to register, but when it does it’s exactly what mickey expected.
“what?” ian whips around.
mickey just shrugs.
“what do you mean you weren’t satisfied? i was great!” he rises from the table, waving his arms around.
mickey tries to contain his laughter. “i dunno about that. i think you’re losing your touch.”
ian gapes like a fish out of water. “losing my- no! no i’m fucking not!”
“uhuh, sure.”
“what the fuck, mickey! do you even remember last night?”
“‘course i do. which is why im saying this.”
ian presses closer, squinting at him to see if he’s lying. “last night was good.”
“sure it was tough guy.”
mickey can see ian’s brows furrow as he gets more and more annoyed. last night was good, which is probably why he’s so confused.
“well, what was wrong with it? i’m sure i can improve.” ian tells him, immediately switching to horny and annoyed instead of just annoyed.
“you didn’t last very long.”
“what?! were you even there last night?!” he rages, taking his hands off of mickey.
in response, mickey just laughs.
“please, i killed you in two seconds.”
“you- wait, what?” ian stutters, suddenly even more confused.
“i said i killed you in two seconds. you’re shitty at video games.”
ian blinks a few times, putting two and two together. “you weren’t satisfied with my performance last night in liam’s shitty fortnight game?” he says, outraged.
“yeah. what’d you think i was talking about?” he asks, playing dumb.
ian seems to catch on. “you’re such an ass.”
“dunno what you’re talking about.” mickey shrugs, barely containing his laughter.
when ian grabs him again and places him on the counter roughly, he’s not exactly surprised.
<3
hope it lived up to expectations!

The Joker is a Shitty Clown
Honestly, this one's just a bit of fun. There's a post floating around somewhere about the Joker getting chased down by a bunch of professional clowns wearing his makeup because he never submitted an egg to the...clown...council (I don't know that it's actually called the clown council). This is semi-related to that.
--
“The Joker is a shitty clown.”
When he says it, the room falls silent. Deathly, even, by some estimates, although those could be classified as a tad dramatic. Jason stares, speechless. Damian does not appear to have noticed that anything is wrong. Tim is the first to speak.
“Do...you want to elaborate on that?”
Dick seems to realize in that moment that the non-sequitur has landed him right at the center of a very dense emotional minefield. He considers that acrobatics run in his family. He considers further that so do unfortunate acrobatic accidents. He chooses his next words carefully.
“I mean first of all he’s not even funny, and that’s, like. Rule one. No clown I ever met had to drug people to get them to laugh at their jokes.”
Realization dawns over Jason’s face like a storm breaking and Tim, diplomatically, chooses not to comment on the way he bites the inside of his cheek to try and fight a smile. He figures it’s fine to let Dick sweat a little over this particular topic -- after all, the Joker is a pretty big sore spot for about half the room, and Dick is not generally so quick to shove his foot all the way down his own throat.
Unsure of his standing and desperate not to lose it, Dick presses on.
“And beyond that, he doesn’t have a gimmick. He doesn’t have a character. There’s no consistency, it’s just...chaos. Which I’ve only seen done well maybe once and to be honest it’s so much extra work and for a beginner, I just- I dunno, it seems like a bad move-”
Jason can’t quite keep back a snort. He tries to cover it with a cough, but Dick knows exactly what the sound means. Jason, smartly, does not attempt eye contact. He prefers to leave the manor on his own terms, and with some of his pride still intact.
“Beginner. Unbelievable…” Tim mutters, but even so he finds himself intrigued. He hadn’t realized Dick had such strong opinions about clowns, although he’s not sure why he’s surprised, given the whole circus-kid thing.
Dick, sensing victory is close at hand, leans forward to deliver what he hopes will be the final blow.
“I’ll bet he doesn’t even know about clown college.”
This is not quite enough to break Jason’s iron will, but it’s a close thing, and Tim affords himself a wry smile. He’s always been the easier of the two of them when it comes to Dick’s antics.
Dick preens in that self-satisfied big brother way that only he can ever seem to pull off and leans back in his chair.
“Once. Just once I’d like to see that hack do an actual routine.”
“For all his glaring faults, I am forced to concede that the howling menace does appear to have grasped one pillar of the art,” Damian says, primly, looking up from what he’s reading.
Tim raises a questioning eyebrow, and Dick tilts his head, taking on the humor-them expression he wears when he thinks he knows better than his younger siblings. Jason still looks inches away from another untimely death and is therefore ill-equipped to respond in any way that isn’t rigid denial of the near convulsive way his shoulders are shaking.
“Oh? And what’s that, Dami,” Dick prompts, and if he wasn’t so sickenly good-hearted it would almost sound patronizing.
Damian looks at Jason, eyes boring into him like little green needles until Jason meets his gaze. His expression does not change when he speaks.
“Slapstick.”
There is a moment of silence so complete you could hear a pin drop from the other side of the manor. And then Jason is howling with laughter, and Tim can’t help but laugh too because holy shit, and Dick is sitting dumbfounded in his chair, gaping at their youngest brother, who merely gives an imperceptible twitch of the corner of his mouth and returns to his book.
#batman#batfamily#tim drake#jason todd#dick grayson#damian wayne#robins being robins#brothers fucking with each other#y'know#fluff#and not even particularly accurate fluff this is purely goofs for the sake of goofs

I have no idea if this is intentional, but with how you've written Kore/Persephone, I very much get like,,, DID, specifically a very wrathful protector alter vibes from Persephone?? And I dunno, I have DID myself and my own protector whose very much determined in his rage to keep us safe, and it's very sweet to be able to see us in a piece of work for once and not have it be demonised. So even if it was completely unintentional, thank you!
Aww anon! This was sweet to read, and I'm happy to inform you that you're not the only one with DID who's relating to Kore's story in the comic! We have another reader in the community who's very outspoken in the Discord server and always speaking on their experiences with DID and how it relates to their analysis of Kore. So you're not alone in feeling that!!
I will say that while I didn't explicitly set out to make Kore a DID-specific character, I can certainly see why and how people with DID are relating to her and I think it's wonderful. I've been writing characters like Kore for years now, as a fan of the "alter ego" trope in media (and it's a big reason why I felt so attached to LO in the first place through the initial S1 setup of the AOW and Persephone being her "wrathful" side) and I've definitely had my own mental health struggles over the years that I think have certainly contributed to that (I don't have DID as far as I know, but I do have those mental "splits" in times of high stress that's almost similar to mania, so I'd be more likely to believe it's either just autistic meltdowns or MAYBE borderline personality disorder lol) Writing characters like Kore has always brought me comfort through personifying the processing of emotions and perspectives and conflicting thought processes.
So I'm glad Kore has brought you that same comfort 🥰
The only thing I will caution is that the topic of Kore and Persephone will get dicey at times. Kore will go through many ups and downs in the plot that will simultaneously be presented through Persephone. There will be just as many lovely moments to be had as well as ugly. Proper trigger warnings will be provided when necessary but much of their plotline will address some rather emotionally devastating stuff, to say the least LOL At the end of the day though I want to give them both a satisfying ending, so I hope we can all weather the storm together until we get to the light on the other side 💖
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you continue to find joy and peace in their story 🥰

I think something that I've learned and a way of wording it that kinda made sense to me when talking with one of the therapists I work with is that a HUGE thing that made my life a lot better - especially the further I got out of my trauma environment - is that one of the best ways to just kind of.... improve your life and create a stable day to day that makes you happy is to ask "If I were to imagine the most IDEAL and perfect day, what would it look like" and then "what can I do today to get as much of the things listed in that day to happen today"
Like my ideal day would look something like this (and in this order typically)
Wake up
Eat a nice breakfast and watch some TV / youtube or play some kind of game that lets me get my brain thinking (strategy, puzzle, pokemon challenges / battles)
Go birding - either a more chill "just vibing" one by myself or with literally anyone who is interested / willing and is at least SLIGHTLY positive and a slightly familiar person (but literally almost anyone)
Go walking around somewhere window shopping and/or eat out with my fiance
Play a casual social game with some friends of some sort
Do some sort of exercise, preferably martial arts, but just anything that builds a physical skill of mine is good
Eat dinner with my fiance and probably watch something with him (could be done before social game / exercise depending on scheduling)
Shower
Write or Draw
Sleep at a good time
And honestly? Most weekends / days off, I honestly usually get like most of that done, save for exercise recently due to physical health issues I have to get addressed, birding being substituted "birding or outdoor chores", and social games sometimes being substituted with "social writing and/or discussions with online friends" as those substitutions fill the same ideal, but just to a lesser extent
And cause most of my days are honestly close to my ideal day, I honestly find myself both very happy, content, and pleased with where I am in life and it really helps me feel both safe, stable, and handle when life starts getting shaken up.
Of course its taken a lot of time to be able to work a lot of that into my base routine because I had to create just fundamental stability with stuff like money and relationships and curating a healthy and supportive social circle and explore what I like to do and what matters but genuinely.... figuring out your ideal day and finding time to get as much of that day emulated every day is just a nice way to just be satisfied in life.
Even on the days I work 12 hours shifts, my work lets me get social games and exercise in most of the time, and I tend to come home, and do 7-10 at a minimum EVERY day.
So even on my busy work days, I still get 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of my ideal day almost every single day and thats like 70% every. single. day.
Like I genuinely can't complain about my life when every day I live 70% of what my ideal day would be at a minimum.
But I dunno man, this is just to throw it out there as food for thought and something to consider.
Feel free to also respond and share your ideal day if you like. I think its really neat to hear what it is for everyone honestly.

I'm bored, so I'm just gonna write what I find most attractive or appealing about each Pizza Tower character!
Peppino Spaghetti - His superhuman strength and speed is extremely impressive, and watching him in action is immensely satisfying. Also, the fact he takes the time to save the bosses from the crumbling Pizza Tower shows he has a caring heart. I'm also very fond of how expressive Peppino is, and I'm also quite fond of his design in general; he's a middle-aged, balding overweight man yet I find him very handsome.
Gustavo - Admittedly, I find Gustavo quite handsome and even cute. I also like that he's supposed to be a Mario expy whose partner is Rick the Hamster instead of Yoshi; it's an interesting spin. It's also nice Gustavo cares enough about Peppino that he's willing to help him take on the Pizza Tower, even if it means facing giant rats. I found out not too long ago that Gustavo has a son... but he's not married? Is he divorced? WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WOULD DIVORCE GUSTAVO!? HE'S SUCH A NICE GUY WHAT THE HECK!?
Brick - Just like all the Stupid Rats, Brick is super adorable. One look at those eyes and I'm done. He's too cute. I love him. I want a Stupid Rat plushie and I want it NOW.
Mr. Scott Stick - This bald, skinny twig of a man... is admittedly handsome in my eyes. He's a jerk who scams desperate people for money, but GOSH... I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Mr. Stick can get it. He's a cutie. Is it the suit? I dunno, maybe. That, and he's apparently a huge dork when he's not scamming people... which I find endearing, oddly.
Phil Pepperman - This pepper is an absolute unit with a big grin and striking blue eyes. I wouldn't call myself a simp, but I understand completely why some people find Pepperman attractive. Personally, I find his pseudo-intellectual personality off-putting, but he is quite good-looking for a pepper.
Vigert Ebenezer Lantte - He's an older guy with a cowboy motif and a great sense of justice and responsibility. How can you not find that attractive? Yes, I know he's a cheese slime, who cares! Don't think I haven't seen people simp over this guy and draw him as a human, either!
Theodore "The" Noise - I'm not a Noise simp by any stretch, but if there is one thing I can say that's attractive about him... it would be his youthful spirit. Yes, The Noise is a manchild, but that's not always a bad thing.
Noisette - She's a very silly little lady whom I find very cute. I appreciate that her design is just as goofy as her boyfriend's, too.
Fake Peppino - What can I say? He's a monster, and I'm a monster lover. I like that he's adorable, silly, AND super deadly! I wanna kiss the frog man, if he'll let me.
Pizzaface - I've seen people draw this mech with a big, beefy body. I get it. Pizzaface's design is appealing, why wouldn't you give him a beefy body to match how powerful he is...?
Pizzahead - HANDSOME UNHINGED SILLY-ASS PIZZA CLOWN MAKES MY MIND GO BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. The sheer autism I have for this guy is unreal. His laugh, his design, his obsession with Peppino, his weird motivations... HE'S NUTS AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Pillar John - Uh... I like his hat? I mostly find John intimidating due to his sheer size and that damned Meatophobia music that plays when you go near him...
Gerome - He has a neat design. I've seen some interesting fan art of him hooking up with pretty girls who are much taller than he is. Good for him, honestly.
BONUS: Maurice Spaghetti - He looks like Peppino but with more hair and facial hair... in other words, handsome. Too bad his personality is utterly abysmal!

Hi! Big fan of your work and writing blog :) I have a question re: fanfic reception. I like writing fanfics about villains on the receiving end of noncon, and I sometimes get feedback that makes me feel weird and I dunno how to respond to it? It’s along the lines of "thanks for giving [character] the pain they deserve" "it’s good that you aren’t nice to [character] like those other fanfic writers". (Part 1…)
(Part 2…)I kind of feel like they’re complimenting my morals instead of my writing, but I also could be overreacting, because I mean it’s fine to seek out fics where a character you hate gets tortured? No hurry answering this, and thanks in advance if you do. I hope you’re doing alright on your break from UtB. I am using the time to reread and am loving it!
~
Hi anon!
Oh this is an interesting quandary to be in, because I'm certain at least some of those people are very much being moralistic about it.
Tbh when it's 'thanks for giving (character) the pain they deserve' you can probably ignore that if you want, because yeah, they might have revenge fantasies and find that very satisfying.
But when you get people going 'thanks for being mean / not nice to this character like other writers' - if you're the kind of person who responds to comments and feels uncomfortable when someone is using your space to shame other authors (because that's exactly what's happening) you can choose - if you want - to take the time to say 'I have no problems when people enjoy this character being hurt, however, I do not tolerate when folks shame other authors and readers for what they enjoy in fiction. Please don't compliment my fic by putting down other people, that's not what a compliment is' or something similar.
As soon as a reader brings in other people and shames them, that's absolutely when you can take a stand and see a clear issue.
I see this a lot for two different things:
Writing realistic kink, and so many readers being like 'omg thanks for writing realistic kink there's so much unrealistic trash on here' and these days I always make a point of saying 'oh thanks! but I write and love unrealistic trash too. This is a fictional site and no one should be expected to write realistic kink here!' It shuts people down amazingly fast. But also makes them realise that perhaps they just shouldn't be throwing stones when we're all in a very glass castle on AO3 lmao
Writing realistic trauma recovery, so like 'thanks for showing how awful and evil rape can be unlike those people who write it for fun' - now how I end up with these readers with my actual writing history, I don't know, but I take the same approach of like 'thanks BUT I LOVE writing rape as titillation! I enjoy both!'
You don't have to be as blunt as me, and you don't have to address it at all, but any reader who shames other authors or readers in your comment section can be addressed directly because it's just a shitty thing to do. And people don't say shit like that in public if they don't secretly hope that one of those people will see the comment and feel bad about what they like.
So yeah, with your first example, they could be feeling moralistic, or they could just want a revenge fantasy and really enjoy noncon! The second example is a clear cut example of shaming, or stepping on other people to pass you a compliment, and you're never ever over-reacting when that makes you feel uncomfortable, or makes you feel like it's not really a compliment. Because all it really is, is a version of: 'you passed my moral standards, thanks' and that's not actually a compliment at all. (Or like you say, it's complimenting your morals, it's like having a weird fandom policeman come by and glare at you and be like '....okay you're committing no crimes, as you were' and moving on. It's just weird).
Anyway *shakes hands for weird comments that shame other readers/authors in the form of a compliment* - I do think you're right to feel uncomfortable at least sometimes when this happens. It's up to you how you choose to address or not address it, but I will say personally that if you aren't going to address it in comments, maaaaybe consider deleting the ones that shame other readers/authors, so that when those people read your fics they don't feel alienated. It's obviously your choice! But just something to consider if you want to be curating your space. And best of luck writing all the noncon-villain fics! They can be a lot of fun :D

Okay so how exactly did Wenda attack all the sillies? Like, in what situation? Did she just like randomly come at Pinki with a chair? What was Tunner trying to do when she shot him? (I think you said something about trying to defend ppl?) How’d she do what she did to Sky and Oren? Also in what order did she attack them? I’m curious lol and I love your yapping so hopefully this ask makes some sense lmao I’m not sure it does sorry 😭
this ask makes so much more sense than ANY ask i ever wrote in my life you're GOOD
okay...i don't have a VERY particular order of events in my head, but here's what probably happened:
(hi, after yapping session t00nyah here, obviously gore and murder and stuff is described there!)
i think at first wenda felt a bit weird when she saw everything change, when she saw brud with 60% of his head gone, when she saw OWAKCX's skinned body, and only then clicked that hey, it's alright, everything's going down, so it's allowed to have some girlfun!
i'm trying to make a timeline still and i think it makes sense in my head that wenda went for sky purely out of this newly bloomed impulse to do something intensely fucked up without a weapon on her. dunno where she got those poles, but i would assume they just were around for some reason. i have a small idea of... tunner could've witnessed it shortly after and probably felt so bad about not being there in time to stop her. i think tunner was on a look out for others because something was clearly going on, but unfortunately stumbled across wenda and of course she was full of delight. seeing tunner so appaled at the sight made her laugh! she doesn't have to hide the deranged side of her brain now, who cares, she's not the only one!
of course it was tunner's duty to eliminate the threat, but the question was in order: was it all her doing? who's behind it all if not her? to which she of course looked at him annoyed and gave him the genuine 'no, i just came here and everything was like that already. not that i mind, as you can see' and somehow still managed to yoink the revolver he had pointed at her. got lucky i suppose. with my super-toxic-yuri-powered brain i can't not imagine her do some weird flirting because i don't care im brainrotted. something about a he/him butch lesbian pointing a gun at her because she's actively seen as a threat is just that attractive to her. but we all know it ultimately ends with her shooting him, having her girlfun!
that's the point after which she goes to get her knife, because she really got lucky with having something around and it's not really that fun when she doesn't have her own iconic murder weapon, right?
i think she could've gotten the idea of finding oren and pinki almost immediately, and of course she found them hiding at the house together, trying to figure out where to go now, nowhere is safe. and nowhere it is, as wenda approaches them in the most horror movie maniac way possible for her. i think hearing her voice immediately raised the question of is there any chance it's a good thing wenda found them, and no, turns out of course it's not! i think she didn't mean to do that, but ended up hitting pinki with a chair because she was annoying to her to shut her the fuck up. ended up fucking up her face and knocking her out for good, as she herself got to FINALLY use her knife and slowly cut open oren's ribcage. made sure to make it painful! after looking at what she's done for a while, of course, she did get bored and move on, but she was definitely satisfied.
(this is basically where the answer to the questions ends, but i still went on a bit of a bonus yapping session to clarify something)
and then in redemption arc au almost immediately after that something just cleans the atmosphere, everything is normal again and wenda is hit with this weird feeling of emptiness after so much stimuli and boiling bloodthirst. just a whuh. wuh. and stands still. looking around. everything is so normal, but the gore in sight is definitely the same. and then she's approached by the higher powers forbidding her from doing any more harm and helping repair what has been broken. obviously her first reaction is 'this is bullshit.' which is understandable. and yeah, this IS bullshit. but she legit is disallowed to harm anyone now it just won't work and harming herself counts too she just can't do SHIT. she very VERY unwillingly has to cure lethal wounds (and it works because of the said higher powers that made her do that and she's so pissed).

Ashley ✨
the OC of my friend @squiishiichaos from her (unpublished yet) book
here is a little snippet provided by her
«Ashley Roach, Kirill was sometimes convinced, was more a doll than an actual man. The very first time he saw him from across the way, he almost didn't believe his eyes. Barnaby warned him, "looks can be deceiving," but nothing quite prepared him for the docile young man who blossomed into a true problem with a little coaxing and lots of support. Now, he was set loose on the world and no one was quite ready for the spitfire he helped create.
No, not create – tailored was a better word. Because the Ashley he met was an abomination created by the worst of the worst in the Lamarque family, owned by the wretched Beaumonts and ruined by them, too. He was taught by them to love pain and to seek it in place of love or kindness, saying thank you for all the terrible things they did to him. When Barnaby first found him, he was a shell – broken by his family's exile and only walking the earth in the hopes he might one day anger them into putting an end to him. Kirill saw the flame smothered deep within the night he laid him down on a table, ready to do his worst, and those pretty mismatched eyes fluttered at him and said, "can we at least do something fun before you finish it? I promise to behave once I've tasted you."
Never mind that Ashley was perfectly behaved the whole walk to his warehouse. Never mind that he was the kind of abyss men fell helplessly into with one quick glance. Kirill allowed him that much, then fostered that flame through visit after visit, encouraging his rebellion from the standards of his wretched family and putting a new mark on his skin. The Chernykrov Crest was only reserved for those deemed worthy of the family, but Kirill didn't want nor need the approval of a crowded banquet to paint it beneath pale skin. He touched it now, just a brush of fingers where they sat side by side on his veranda, soaking in the crisp morning air.
Ashley glanced at him, wispy black hair still partly damp from his shower, small strands falling over mismatched green and brown eyes. Nimble fingers came up to play with hoops on pretty red lips, kissed raw just moments ago. Kirill ran his hand up further beneath his shirt, resting it on the center of his back, soaking in his warmth and comfort, surprised that his beauty was somehow still clothed despite his affinity for lingerie and tormenting their latest guest within the house.
When Ashley leaned against his shoulder, he hooked his arm around him and rested his chin atop damp hair, smelling his own shampoo and conditioner fresh and earthy on him. "Can we just stay like this forever?" Ashley whispered to him, leg crossing over to slip seamlessly between Kirill's own. "We can be like a king and his queen. I'll find a pretty dress and you can do my hair all perfect-like. We can even convince Jiro to wear something besides black for once, and declare ourselves, I dunno, sovereign leaders of a new, free nation. Then you can have as many concubines as you want– but I get to help pick them because you have terrible taste in men – and I'll–"
Kirill gently cut Ashley off with a darkened look, watching the crooked grin that crept slow across his painted lips. "I have terrible taste in men?"
Ashley nodded against his shoulder, ruffling that silky black hair and spreading the beginnings of a blush across his pale cheek. "You chose me, didn't you?"
Kirill took him by the chin and drew him near enough they were barely an inch apart. "You choose concubines – I want nobody else," and he kissed him, drinking in his satisfied sigh while they waited for the winter sun to rise. »

dunno if this has already been asked before, but have you ever thought about what your ocs would text/type like Or what their hand writing would look like? very curious
i worry that by doing this i'll imply that characters only speak in one tone or that the general vibe of conversation would be punchy and comedic (which just kind of feels encouraged when i write small excerpts of dialogue without context, and because im not that great of a writer). but obviously i think all the characters would talk in very different ways depending on the situation and mood. i dont really imagine a super distinct way of typing for any of them besides just how their personalities come through in interaction but i think what i have here might work as an exaggerated case to give you an idea of their patterns and personality at its most extreme, but which you might see hints of in general conversation.
cath: exaggerated, truncated, lots of hyperbole and poor spelling. cute emoticons. when typing long messages she writes run-on sentences. her hand-writing is ok. she cant read cursive or even some fonts, or long paragraphs. she might have dyslexia. hellooooo. . .?
(”O_O) think im so fucked
HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE
update i quituple-checked the cabinet we dont have bread or rice or anything at all
leica: kind of theatrical, sarcastic, arcane, proper spelling and punctuation unless she loses her composure which is often. handwriting is small, scratchy and unreadable.
In the material world, it's generally frowned upon.
I climb the Tree of Life to find and devour the Fruits of Yuri. Nothing less could ever satisfy my wretched heart.
ILL MURDER WHOEVER SENT HER THOSE PICTURES ILL TEAR THEM APART
I sincerely apologize for how I acted and I wont do it again.
erin: uses lots of acronyms, types in her typical boisterous tone. her handwriting is pretty much perfect.
So a LOOOOT happened between us its kind of a lot to get into LOL dumb drama but things are g now dont worry!!
YOU'VE SEEN THAT ONE? I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
WOW LOL SOUNDS TOUGH HOPE THAT GOES GOOD!

So, I just finished watching all 9 episodes of Smiling Friends in one sitting.
I dunno why, but I just have a bit of a natural aversion to immediately diving into like Internety things that blow up really quickly. I still need to watch the pilot episode for The Amazing Digital Circus, I have no clue what the game Content Warning is about, I know I got into watching videos on Lethal Company late and such.
One of those things was Smiling Friends. I had seen it blowing up originally, and so naturally, I just drifted away from it. I had subsequently seen it in like some memes or stuff afterwards, but besides that, not much.
It doesn’t help I’ve not really gotten into Adult Swim cartoons at the moment. I love random, but Adult Swim cartoons can be really cynical in a way that makes me wary of them.
Then, I saw you post some art of it. Then some more. Wow, more! What about this show makes this person I consider a good Tumblr friend like it so much to dedicate so much time to doing at about it? Well, you said in an ask that it wasn’t as cynical as other Adult Swim cartoons, especially when it came to Pim and Charlie. Huh, okay, I think I’ll go watch it!
I procrastinated on it for a few days because I was busy. But, finally, I decided, “You know what, I’m just gonna watch it!” I watched the first episode. Honestly, it is my least favorite episode. (Weirdly, just like how the first episode of the Sam and Max TV show is my least favorite.) I didn’t like The Boss breastfeeding, I didn’t like how Desmond kept the gun pointed to his head, I didn’t like the spinning baby. That all felt too jarring for me.
Of course, maybe I wasn’t properly acclimated with the show yet. Besides, there was good with the bad. I thought Pim and Charlie’s dynamic seemed funny, the ending was great, and I liked Allan and Glep as the other two Smiling Friend workers. So, I pushed through.
I ended up really enjoying my time watching the show. There was a lot more I liked than I disliked. My main thing: You were right, it definitely wasn’t as cynical as I thought it would be. Sure, the world still is cynical and messed up at points, but I felt an authenticity to the reoccurring characters and how they dealt with the situations they ended up in. Plus, for every single episode, I didn’t see the ending coming AND felt super satisfied by the resolutions! My favorite episode is probably the Salty’s one.
So, I guess this is a really long way to tell you: Thanks for getting me into Smiling Friends!
ooouuu i’m glad you enjoyed it!! surprising i’ve gotten some people to start the show because of my fanart.. wuohhh
Completely understand the parts that felt jarring; i could only look past it or at times find the humor in it mostly because of how my friends and i perceived and translated it into our own funky little brains. And i don’t necessarily feel as if adult shows need to step away from that very random/jarring humor/gags but more of Figure Out How To Do It Right and that’s what I feel smiling friends does perfectly. But some people are gonna be left with a bad taste in their mouth anyways and that’s completely fine yk.
What I like is how they mix those very jarring elements in their show + the characters world and contrast it with simply how realistic the characters are. They typically converse as if most of this stuff is normal and it only adds more to the joke when they actually freak out. Like i’ve said before i adore the mixture of extremely realistic dialogue that sounds so similar to real life conversations we’ve very have had before with people in everyday life. (that’s why i especially love the trip to brazil episode)
And obviously the lack of cynicism. I’ve been avoiding most adult animated shows for YEARS because i genuinely just can’t stand the cynicism and it’s constantly negative fanbases it always brews. And i’m very heavy on looking to the fanbase to get an example of how good of a media may be or simply how much it may appeal to me. I remember telling a friend that the difference between the rick & morty fanbase to the smiling friends fanbase was just one fanbase is known for constantly having a negative outlook on life and saying shit like “you need to have a high IQ to understand this show” while the smiling friends fanbase just DESPERATELY wants to make out sloppy style with Charlie. There’s no tasteless misogynistic, queerphobic, or racist jokes. Hell they have two fat characters as the main characters and we have not heard a single fat joke. It’s a breath of fresh air and with its inclusion of having many youtube/twitter/online creators be part of the show (and RUNNING the show) i feel as if we’re hopefully stepping into a new age of adult animated media.
hopefully one with a more positive outlook on adulthood.
aaaa enough of my rambling you literally watched the show!! feels so odd i used to be influenced by fanart and now my fanart is influencing others. i will do everything to use this power for good 😭 just happy to see people start and enjoy things im really fond for.
hope u having a good morning/evening/night tumblr friend 🫶

Agatha All Along—I’m a bit disappointed (Spoiler alert for ep. 4-8)
i love ALL witchy stuff. Literally all Witchy media, as hocus pocus, wanda vision, coraline is kinda witchy, all of it. Or i guess coraline is more whimsigoth. Whatever. Anyways, i was raised a Christian and around age ten, I realized, I’ve never believed or felt any connection with this religion.
In fact, I honestly was mad at Christianity (and colonialism) for stealing things from other religions such as Easter from Eostre, the goddess of Spring and Fertility, or the Christmas tree, two examples from paganism. Yet, I’ve always respected Christians otherwise, and all religions.
So i started researching other religions to find mine. Because I’ve always believed there’s someone up there. But I believed there was someone, and others, as I am a pantheist. And I’ve always had a strong connection with nature and the five elements and I’ve always believed in reincarnation. I also started using crystals and incense around age thirteen and fourteen. I’ve found that those beliefs, and more I hold, strongly align with Wiccan Paganism.
i felt it was perfect for me because ive also always been…different. I’ll hear or see things others dont. I see visions of the future (though usually not immensely important ones 😒) and I strongly believe in ghosts and the like. (I believe you can be a ghost with the classic ‘limitations’ unfinished business etc and be reincarnated after theyre solved or never if theyre not.)
ANYWAYS. I’ve always loved “witchy” media, even before that journey through the past years, and I was so excited for this one. I loved it SO MUCH…until episode five.
The end, where Alice died and Teen through Lilia and Jen off the road, very much disappointed me in Marvel yet again. I know they love killing people off and making people mad but come on, don’t make teen evil. Alice was enough.
then Lilia and Jen came back to help with the next trial right? Until Lilia died. Like what the fuck. Anyways, I was satisfied with hers because it was a death that was actually meaningful. I was not happy with Alice’s because it was just…I dunno. You know what I mean.
i thought she was going to die when that thing landed on her in the trial with fire, where they had to play music. Which was in episode four i think, maybe early five. That wouldve meant something. But, no. I’ve forgiven it, though, because I’m happy with the queer roles and the fact that Alice worked at hot topic.
Now, i REALLY wasn’t happy when Teen turned out to be partially Billy. I would be okay if he was a random kid, but I expected him to be Agatha’s son until the sleepover trial. And i did not like the fact that the road was created, but especially with his magic. I really hoped if it was fake that at least it became real with their magic or something, but ugh.
It’s marvel. Disney marvel. a disney marvel SERIES. I really should’ve seen this coming from a year away. Its giving the disappointment with she hulk, but a weaker dosage. I liked all of it before these parts. Finally, I wish there was more to it instead of that abrupt ending.
Perhaps they could write a season two with the place Agatha and Teen (i refuse to call him billy, and its easier than william) went next. Maybe we could run into Jen in a future show or movie, or even episode. It’s okay, though, in total i’d give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Curious about how Sterling would react to a Darling encouraging him to find self-worth outside of his grades and status. If he could divorce his self-worth from those things, what might he find them in next? Apologies if this question is too far removed from the point of Sterling as a character (like asking if Darling tried to leave the school b/c of him).
No pressure to answer, of course~! Just love-hate him so much. Wanna throw a graphing calculator at him one moment (did it to a bully back in grade school, would do it again. 10/10 very satisfying, very effective 😌✨), and kiss him stupid the next. Dunno what you put in your characters to make them so addicting but you gotta stop 😩 /lh

P.S. hope you’re having a good week so far :D
i put crack cocaine in my ocs. hope this helps 🫶 /j
naur but for real. i feel like if you encouraged sterling to find his self worth outside of his grades, he'd scoff and brush it off, may even get a bit bitchy over the suggestion because it implies that he isn't as in control of the life that hes spent so long curating into being 'perfect'. however he'd make some small changes after you bring it up; spending slightly less time studying to read things he likes, composing and playing music for fun rather than for practice, just little things so his life is a bit more bearable. he's very used to his hectic competitive schedule and will not slack off enough to let his grades be less than perfect, but if he can juggle an obsession with you with his normal life and still maintain top ranks then he can squeak in a hobby or two to get you off his back lmfao.
asking sterling to completely divorce his self worth from the thing hes dedicated his life to is asking him to give up part of his identity and he's just not going to do that. but he could definitely learn to live a little once he learns a healthier balance 😌
#inbox | not a bot just shy#🪶 sterling cygnus#im sick again but when am i not tbh#im happier lately tho bc sept is my bday month 🫶

A thought on Botw's items
So, first of all, if you were left dissatisfied and somewhat angry by Totk, go watch this wonderful video and enjoy your catharsis:
youtube
So, after watching this my mind started to fix upon this godforsaken series again and, a thought about how the wild saga handles things and why.
Now, i'm not a seasoned game designer, i don't know shit on how to deliver these massive projects, and i'll admit i haven't done proper research like in interviews, manuals, artbook, ecc., this is all very much a stream of consciousness.
What i reflected on is how many of us struggled to really bite deep with criticism into the structural exploration systems of this games, because it apparently "works", and in a somewhat elegant and cohesive way. It's much more difficult to critique the decision of adding shrines, of the dungeons, of the pad tools, of the rewards, because it easily justifies itself with the various "time limits, sacrifices needed to be made, streamlined exploration" and so on; it's much easier instead to go to the throat of the story, or characters, or the durability, because it's a much more direct frustration i think.
But then again, thinking about Botw: was giving the player all of their tools right away really the only right decision?
I honestly think that having the player roam around hyrule, letting them explore and find obstacles for which the tools are required, and then giving them said tools, would've been much better. You would accumulate small frustrations here and there, places to return to, for which you would use those pins in the map, and then you'd have the satisfaction of having finally found the solution to your troubles and a unique reward from wherever you might've taken them.
"Sure", you might say, "but then all the major dungeon and "story areas" should take into accoutn wether you have them or not". ....Yes. what's the problem in that? maybe a character, like one of the descendant could say something along the lines of "if only we had a way to freeze the water to resolve this issue that i feel might be present in the divina beast" or similar, that way the beasts would be centered around fleshing out one mechanic. i guess that might make them a bit more monotonous, but i think not; they are already kind short and boring, they might as well be a a dungeon designed around fleshing out just one of your tools in a satisfying way.
That to me would've resolved a good amount of issues i have with it with the game already, because part of the joy of exploring, at least in the first like 10 to 20 hours, would've been the anticipation of finding a tool and to finally use it! and i'd have something more memorable to remember while roaming around than just pretty sunsets.
Also, this would resolve the B I G issue i have with the intro of both of this game, of it being an unskippable slog. If you remove all of the tutorial aspect out of it, and outsource it to a later, further away area of the game, you can reduce all the time the plateau takes out of you to like, an introduction to combat, crafting, effects and that's it, you're free after that.
plus i always found stupid that the game won't let you have the paraglider before finishing it. like, just leave the tutorial there if someone wants it, but le me find the paraglider as an object and then let me go down, it's not an essential item, just a convenient one; plus, if players went around hyrule without the paraglider, you could just remind them in other ways later on that they might find one on the plateau, or let them find another one in other areas of the game. that could've been fun: "where did you find the glider? here? really? wow, these devs really thought of everything, i found it there instead, and mike down south".
i dunno, i just don't want to think about botw as the only correct way of doing this kind of game.
